System requirements

For maximum security BlindLock requires a dedicated security chip: the Secure Enclave (on Apple devices) or a TPM 2.0 module (on Windows and Linux). This hardware is essential for binding the vault to your device — and for security reasons BlindLock offers no compromising alternative.

Most modern machines already have such a chip. If it is missing or switched off, BlindLock cannot be used — the app will not start at all. On Windows the installer already checks for it and stops before anything is installed, if you want it to. That is exactly what the trial is for: you can check whether your system is compatible, calmly and at no risk, before buying a licence.

Verifying the downloads (checksums)

For your safety BlindLock publishes the SHA-256 checksum of every file. After downloading you can verify the file's integrity and make sure it was not altered on the way.

The installers are certified as well: the Windows build is signed to BlindLock, LLC, and the macOS build is notarized by Apple.

RPM and AppImage: you get new versions here on the download page.

Installing the .deb or .rpm puts you in the tss group, which is how BlindLock reaches the security chip. The AppImage cannot do that for you, so run sudo usermod -aG tss $USER once and log out and back in.

Every Linux download ships with a GPG signature alongside it: Linux packages carry no embedded signature the way .exe or .dmg do, so they are signed separately. Verify yours with the public BlindLock release key:

gpg --import blindlock-release-signing.pub.asc
gpg --verify BlindLock_1.8.1_amd64.deb.asc BlindLock_1.8.1_amd64.deb

After the trial

If BlindLock convinces you, you can buy a licence at any time and activate it inside the app. Every entry and setting you already have stays exactly where it is.

If you decide not to continue, the trial simply expires. It is not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel — no automatic renewal and no hidden costs.
